The problem

We wanted a quick game for short breaks that keeps players thinking, without ads, accounts or data collection.

What we built

A seeded puzzle engine generates six types of puzzle and checks each one is fair. A pure game-session reducer handles timers, scoring, combos, lives and surprise rule changes, which keeps the logic easy to test.

Key features

  • 60-second rounds with four answers, three lives and a speed bonus
  • Combo score multiplier
  • Six generated puzzle types, including sequences, colour patterns, odd one out and memory flash
  • Five difficulty levels that rise during play
  • Surprise rule-change cards such as 'Choose the opposite'
  • Daily challenge with a streak, generated offline
  • Coins and unlockable colour themes, with no in-app purchases
  • Fully offline: no ads, analytics, accounts or data collection

Our role

Designed and built by NinjaNext.

Challenges and how we handled them

  • Generated puzzles that are always solvable

Each generator has a validator that checks the puzzle has a single correct answer before it is shown, and the same seed always produces the same daily challenge.

Screens

  • Don't Break the Pattern rule-change card
