The problem
Colony sims are usually desktop-scale and demand hours. We wanted a whole island economy that still reads on a phone screen and survives being put down mid-cycle.
What we built
We built a resource and population model where settlers consume food and water each cycle and arrive or leave based on housing and happiness, then capped offline progress at eight hours so returning players find something waiting rather than a mess.
Key features
- Tap trees, rocks, bushes and shoreline to gather wood, stone, food and water
- Ten building types, from Woodcutter's Hut to Market
- Three starting island layouts
- Settler consumption, housing and happiness driving population growth
- Weather events: drought, storm and good harvest
- Eight colony stages, from Castaway Camp to Island Capital
- 18 campaign objectives plus a relaxed sandbox mode
- Offline progress capped at eight hours, with versioned local saves

Challenges and how we handled them
Offline progress that cannot snowball
An idle economy left running for a week either trivialises the game or buries the player in bookkeeping. Capping catch-up at eight hours keeps returning worthwhile without undoing the challenge.
