Custom Software Development
Custom software development services
Some businesses outgrow off-the-shelf tools. We build the system that fits the work: a Kotlin and Spring Boot API, a PostgreSQL database with tracked migrations, an admin back office with roles and an audit log, and the customer-facing apps that sit on top. Our largest builds combine a website, a mobile app, an admin panel and an API in one platform.

Problems this service solves
Custom Software Development usually suits teams in one of these situations.
- Operators running bookings, jobs, orders or cases across several tools
- Businesses that need staff roles, approvals and an audit trail
- Companies replacing a fragile spreadsheet or plugin setup
How we test it
We test backend logic with JUnit and MockK and put database changes through versioned migrations. On our own Cognix platform, for example, the deploy pipeline runs a health check and rolls back automatically if it fails.
What you get
Deliverables
What a typical engagement includes. We agree the exact scope with you before work starts.
Discovery and data model
We map the workflow, the roles and the records first, so the database fits the business.
Backend API
Kotlin or Java with Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Flyway migrations, JWT security and OpenAPI docs.
Back office
Admin screens for bookings, payments, refunds, stock, staff and reports.
Access control
Server-enforced roles and permissions, with an audit log of who changed what.
Documents and messaging
PDF invoices, tickets and certificates, plus email, SMS and WhatsApp notifications.
Scheduled jobs
Reminders, status checks and automatic refunds that run on a schedule.
Our approach
How the work runs
The same five steps on every project, with working software to review every week.
Step 1: Share your idea
Tell us what you want to build, who it is for and what has to be true for it to succeed.
You get: A short written summary of the problem and a suggested first release.
Step 2: Plan and design
We agree the scope, the screens and the technical approach before writing production code.
You get: An agreed scope, designs for the key flows and a milestone plan.
Step 3: Build and demo weekly
We build in small steps and give you a working version to try every week.
You get: A tested, working product that grows each week.
Step 4: Launch
We prepare the release, from store listings and privacy pages to hosting and monitoring.
You get: Your product, live for real users.
Step 5: Grow
After launch we fix, improve and extend the product based on what users actually do.
You get: A product that keeps improving, or a smooth handover.

FAQs
Custom Software Development: common questions
How do you start a custom software project?
With a short discovery phase. We walk through how the work happens today, who does what, and which records matter. From that we agree a first release that covers the core workflow, then build in small, demonstrable steps.
Can the new system connect to tools we already use?
Usually, yes. We have connected systems to payment gateways, government vehicle APIs, flight suppliers, messaging services and email providers. If a tool has an API, we can normally integrate it.
Where will the software be hosted?
Wherever suits you. We have deployed to Azure virtual machines, Windows servers with IIS, and Docker-based setups. You own the hosting account.
